| 3-D Pipeline Inspection |
A video recording of the passage of the CoolVision is done at the same time -- and at the same speed -- as the CCTV video recording. A link between the two inspections is provided through the interactive report interface. A picture of the laser ring and a picture of the CCTV inspection at the same location are presented on the report. In tests conducted by an independent third party laboratory, CoolVisionTM has achieved a precision of 0.25 %. This accuracy is unique on the market.
The CoolVision Hardware System is a safe, low cost solution that offers a number of enormous advantages over old-style, 2-D pipeline inspections. These include:

| Camera Transporters |
The RST Crawler Transporters are designed to carry the Omni Eye Zoom Camera and are available in both single and multi-conductor configurations. They operate in line sizes from 6" - 30" with axle and driveline extensions. Crawler weights are adjustable with the addition or removal of brass ballast plates.
A drive chain, combined with a high torque, permanent magnet .25 HP motor with a right angle gearbox and 18:5:1 gear ratio, provides necessary power to pull 1,500' of single conductor or multi-conductor cable. (Actual distances will vary with line conditions).
The crawlers have three forward speeds, one reverse, a stop function and a freewheel mode for easy retrieval. Travel speeds are up to 55' per minute at full power. Travel speeds and direction are controlled by desktop or hand held controller.
Specially designed, contoured pads, attached with dual stainless steel rivets on stainless steel chain, provide a large contact surface for maximum traction.
The crawlers are adaptable to all R.S. Technical Services mainline systems.
See details about each model below. For more information, please give us a call or send us an email.
The Mainline Tractor Transport Vehicle is designed to operate on armored single conductor cable. It is capable of transporting stationery-head Mainline cameras, rotating head cameras, as well as standard voltage mini cameras (with the appropriate tractor cradle adapters) through water mains, sanitary sewers or storm drains.
Wheel tracking widths are adjustable for pipeline sizes that are 6-inches to 24-inches in diameter when the appropriate axle extensions are used. An axle extension user's guide is provided as standard equipment with the tractor. The tractor provides the required traction drive to inspect pipelines up to 1200-feet from point of entry. It can travel at speeds of up to 45-feet per minute when carrying up to 13-pounds. Under heavy loading, controls within the tractor automatically increase the torque of the motor.
The tractor can negotiate 5/8-inch offsets and clear 5/8-inch protruding laterals in 6-inch lines. It has a minimum of three forward speeds, a stop function, and freewheeling capabilities for easy extraction.
Power: The Mainline Tractor Transport Vehicle's built in power supply receives its control signals and power from the armored single conductor cable. The power supply also regulates the current and will automatically increase the motor torque if excess loading causes the power supply current to reach 1 ampere. Power is transferred to the wheels through a low maintenance gear assembly that is enclosed in a sealed housing.
Controls: The tractor is controlled from an auxiliary desktop unit, which plugs into the camera controller at the viewing station.
Physical Description: The tractor's motor housing is fabricated from aluminum and stainless steel. It is waterproof. The motor has hardened steel reduction gears in a sealed housing. Length: The motor and wheel drive assembly is less than 25-inches long.
Electronics: All electronic components are solid state. Available options include reverse gear; hand-held auxiliary controller with a 14-foot cord; various tire designs to meet any inspection requirements.

The TranSTAR's innovative technology utilizes easy access to the transporter chassis to allow swap-out of the motor drive gear set when a change in motor torque is needed.
The TranStar transporter is water resistant (per IPX7) and has an operating temperature range of between -10 degrees and +40 degrees Centigrade. It operates on all standard RST single conductor systems, although an optional multi-conductor is available. Maximum power input is 180 watts (peak); 1.5 amps.
The maximum pipe size the TranSTAR can access is adjustable via optional axle and wheel combinations. Speed range is 5 to 70 feet per minute. The TranSTAR is 18.9" in length, has an 11" wheelbase, is 4.2" wide and tall, with a base weight of 25 lbs (w/o camera).
Quick Change Gears: Accessible motor drive gear on transporter chassis. Install gear sets of alternate ratios to optimize the transporter for the existing or potentially changing load conditions.
All Wheel Drive: Gear driven wheels employing ball-bearing supported steel precision machined gears encased in brass. Sealed hubs prevent moisture or dirt from entering gear case.
Freewheel Clutch: Allows rapid retrieval once inspection is complete.
Rare-Earth Permanent Magnet Motor: Rated at 1/8 HP (90 watts, continuous) to provide a smooth, powerful drive source.
Single Conductor Coax Control: Speed control and DC power from single conductor coax TV cable.
Torque Multiplier Circuit: Internal control when that extra boost is needed. Precision-Machined Construction: CNC precision-machined brass 360-plate gear housing shafts and stainless steel hubs.
